NFL Player
These are some of the duties and responsibilities that football players have: DT = defensive tackle: The inner two members of the defensive line, whose jobs are to maintain their positions in order to stop a running play or to run through a gap in the offensive line to pressure the quarterback or disrupt the backfield formation. DE = defensive end: The outer two members of the defensive line. FB = fullback: A player who's responsible for blocking for the running back and also for pass-blocking to protect the quarterback. Fullbacks, who are generally bigger than running backs, are short-yardage runners. WR = wide receiver: A player who uses his speed and quickness to elude defenders and catch the football. Tight ends and wide receivers must be on the end of the line of scrimmage in order to be an eligible pass receiver. If a wide receiver is on the line of scrimmage and a tight end is inside of him, an illegal formation has occurred because another eligible has covered the eligible tight end.
Salary: On average football players make $1.9 million.
Education and demands for this particular career:
: College Career. Unlike major professional sports such as baseball and ice hockey, which draft and sign players from high school, football players must play college football for at least three seasons or be out of high school for at least three years before being eligible to play in the NFL.
